High-Resolution LiDAR Survey Boosts Desert Antimony Mine Insights

Locksley Resources completed a high-resolution LiDAR survey at the Desert Antimony Mine (DAM) in California’s Mojave region. The survey produced a detailed 3D model of historic mine workings. It covers about 236 meters of underground development across four levels. The data highlights a 130-meter strike length and identifies three previously mined stibnite-bearing quartz-carbonate veins.

The 3D model provides key geological context. It enables more accurate resource drilling and mine redevelopment planning. By using this data, Locksley can refine exploration targets, improve drilling precision, and strengthen project outcomes. CEO Kerrie Matthews emphasized that LiDAR confirmed historic vein positions and supports the company’s domestic antimony supply strategy.

The survey also forms a foundation for upcoming work, including detailed geological mapping, JORC-compliant exploration target development, and underground sampling. These steps align with Locksley’s Mine-to-Metal US growth plan. They position DAM as a critical domestic source of antimony and other key minerals.

 

LiDAR Technology Supports US Critical Mineral Supply Chain

Locksley’s use of LiDAR shows its commitment to a data-driven, accelerated mine redevelopment strategy. This technology allows precise evaluation of ground conditions, vein locations, and historical mining extents. The survey supports both near-term exploration and long-term domestic antimony production goals.

Additionally, Locksley added 249 claims to its Mojave project. This expands the total landholding to over 40 km² of highly prospective critical mineral territory. As the US strengthens domestic supply chains for critical materials, technologies like LiDAR enhance exploration efficiency and investment confidence.
