Noble Minerals Expands Rare Earth Portfolio in Labrador

Noble Mineral Exploration has completed the acquisition of a rare earth element (REE)-enriched system on its Chapiteau Property in Labrador, Canada. This 25 map-staked unit property covers approximately 647 hectares and lies 100km south of Strange Lake and B-Zone deposits. Meanwhile, it is just 38km northeast of the Crater Lake scandium rare earth resource. Noble Minerals expects the property to significantly enhance its REE exploration portfolio.

The area was previously explored by Midland Exploration in 2010–2011, which conducted a 3,143-line-km airborne magnetic and radiometric survey. Midland’s work identified multiple exploration targets, and subsequent prospection and sampling confirmed the potential for high-grade rare earth mineralisation.

Chapiteau Property Shows High Rare Earth Potential

Samples collected from 81 rock outcrops and mineralised boulders returned up to 8.34% total rare earth element oxides (TREOs), including yttrium. Heavy rare earth element oxides (HREOs) comprised 2.29% to 12.85% in samples with more than 0.5% TREO. Individual REE concentrations included cerium (8.22%), lanthanum (3.38%), neodymium (3.39%), yttrium (0.66%), praseodymium (0.96%), dysprosium (0.19%), and gadolinium (0.35%).

High-grade mineralisation is linked to iron oxides in pegmatite aplite dikes and iron oxide clusters within an alkaline granite intrusion. Grab samples from 26 newly identified mineralised zones returned values ranging from 1.02% to 8.34% TREO. The host alkaline granite forms a 9km diameter airborne magnetic anomaly, highlighting the property’s exploration potential.

SuperMetalPrice Commentary:

Noble Minerals’ Chapiteau acquisition strengthens Canada’s position in rare earth exploration. With global demand for REEs rising due to electric vehicles and renewable energy, this property could become a strategic asset. Investors and industry stakeholders should monitor Noble Minerals’ drilling programs and potential partnerships, as Labrador’s REE projects gain global attention.
