Spectro Alloys Boosts Aluminum Recycling Capacity with New Expansion

Spectro Alloys

Spectro Alloys, a secondary aluminum smelter based in Minnesota, has completed a major expansion project. The company has added a 90,000-square-foot facility at its Rosemount campus. This expansion will significantly boost aluminum rolling slab and extrusion billet production.

Increased Capacity and Production Targets

The new facility is expected to add nearly 120 million pounds (approximately 54,431 metric tons) of annual recycling capacity. Production is set to begin in the second half of 2025. Spectro Alloys aims to produce 55,000 metric tons of billet annually once the facility reaches full capacity in the first quarter of 2026.

This expansion strengthens Spectro Alloys’ position in the aluminum recycling market. It also contributes to a more sustainable aluminum supply chain.
