1. Reporting Duration: March 24, 2025 – March 28, 2025
2. Introduction to Metals: Alloy Price Analysis including Cobalt Alloys
3. Summary: From March 24 to March 28, 2025, the prices of FSX alloys increased, driven by a rise in cobalt prices. FSX 414 and FSX 430 alloys both saw a $0.14 increase per kilogram, reflecting the impact of rising cobalt prices. The price of cobalt rose by $0.22 per kilogram due to supply chain uncertainties and disruptions in the Democratic Republic of Congo’s (DRC) raw material exports. As FSX alloys contain around 50% cobalt, their prices are highly sensitive to cobalt price fluctuations. The future price of FSX alloys will depend on the stability of cobalt supply and the resumption of exports from the DRC.
