2. Introduction to Metals: Alloy Price Analysis including Stainless Steel
3. Summary: From March 17 to March 21, 2025, the price of MO-RE alloys decreased due to falling nickel prices. MO-RE 1 alloys dropped by $0.13, while MO-RE 2 alloys decreased by $0.11. The primary cause of the decline is the reduced nickel price, which fell by $0.39 per kilogram due to slowed demand for stainless steel in China, rising inventories, and oversupply concerns. Although both MO-RE alloys are impacted by nickel, MO-RE 2 alloys, which contain more ferro tungsten, experienced a smaller decline. The price of ferro tungsten increased by $0.49 due to feedstock shortages in China and export control expansions. Going forward, nickel and ferro tungsten price fluctuations will continue to heavily influence MO-RE alloy prices, with MO-RE 2 alloys being less affected by the nickel price decline due to the rising ferro tungsten price.
