ATI’s New Titanium Sheet Production Facility

ATI Inc., a leading producer of titanium, nickel, and cobalt alloys, has launched its new titanium alloy sheet production facility in Pageland, South Carolina. Now fully operational, the plant produces titanium sheets that are wider and longer than any others in the industry. With this increased capacity, ATI can serve aerospace customers like Airbus, which has signed long-term agreements for titanium plate, sheet, and billet supplies.

 

Meeting Aerospace Demands with Titanium Alloy Sheets

ATI’s titanium alloy sheets are vital for producing aerostructure components and assemblies that require strength and durability. These sheets endure extreme conditions, from high stress to environmental factors. As aerospace manufacturing shifts towards lightweight, durable materials, titanium plays a crucial role. ATI’s new facility helps meet this demand and strengthens the supply chain for aerospace manufacturers.

Over two-thirds of the Pageland plant’s capacity will be sold through long-term agreements with aerospace clients. Airbus, a key customer, is already working with ATI to qualify materials for narrow- and wide-body aircraft. A Sustainable Future in Titanium Production

ATI is committed to sustainability, with the Pageland facility designed with eco-friendly practices in mind. The plant uses all-electric furnaces and a highly efficient water-jacketed pickle line, minimizing air emissions and wastewater discharge. ATI’s sustainability report reveals that 81% of the metals produced by ATI in 2024 were sourced from recycled content.

These environmentally responsible practices not only align with ATI’s sustainability goals but also ensure high-quality materials with minimal environmental impact. ATI continues to lead the way in providing aerospace-grade titanium alloys while promoting a greener future.
