European Lithium’s Strategic Sale of CRML Shares Strengthens Funding
European Lithium (EUR) has sold 3.03 million shares of Critical Metals Corp (CRML) to a U.S. institutional investor. The transaction raised approximately $50 million at $16.50 per share. This off-market sale reflects investor confidence in CRML’s critical mineral portfolio. The proceeds will support the development of the Tanbreez Rare Earth Project in Greenland, a vital source of strategic minerals.
CRML simultaneously completed a private placement, raising another $50 million in equity funding. This placement includes 1.47 million ordinary shares priced at $16.50 each and pre-funded warrants for an additional 1.56 million shares. The shares come with resale registration rights, enhancing liquidity for investors.
European Lithium’s Market Value and Strategic Outlook
Tony Sage, EUR’s Executive Chairman, highlighted a market valuation gap between EUR and its CRML shareholding. EUR currently holds over 53 million CRML shares, valued at about $1.2 billion based on CRML’s Nasdaq closing price on October 16, 2025. This valuation exceeds EUR’s current market cap, even after recent share price gains. Sage emphasized ongoing strategic efforts to better reflect this intrinsic value and optimize shareholder returns.
European Lithium also reported cash reserves exceeding $190 million, supporting its growth and investment strategies. The partnership with Sizzle Acquisition last year facilitated CRML’s formation and strengthened EUR’s position in critical metals.
SuperMetalPrice Commentary:
European Lithium’s recent $50 million share sale in CRML underscores growing investor interest in critical minerals, especially rare earth projects like Tanbreez. This deal reinforces the importance of Greenland as a strategic resource hub amid rising global demand for clean energy materials. Meanwhile, the valuation gap between EUR and CRML signals potential market inefficiencies, offering investors opportunities. With robust cash reserves, European Lithium remains well-positioned to capitalize on the expanding critical metals market. Market watchers should track developments closely as these projects advance toward production.
