Fornnax Unveils SR-MAX2500 Shredder for Municipal Waste Processing

Revolutionizing Waste Management in India

Fornnax Technology, based in India, has launched its latest shredder, the SR-MAX2500, designed specifically to handle municipal solid waste (MSW). The unveiling took place on October 16 at IFAT India 2024 in Mumbai, marking a significant step in the company’s mission to enhance waste management solutions.

Commitment to Sustainability

Jignesh Kundaria, Director and CEO of Fornnax, stated, “With the SR-MAX2500, we’re poised to transform the waste management landscape in India and beyond.” He emphasized the company’s commitment to sustainability and improving recycling processes, aligning with the Prime Minister’s vision for achieving Net Zero emissions by 2050.

Advanced Design Features

The SR-MAX2500 incorporates elements from Fornnax’s SR-Series machines, featuring hydraulic motors, a unique cutter design, and a replaceable cutting table. These advancements are aimed at optimizing the shredding process for large-scale municipal waste recyclers and other related industries.

Targeted Market Applications

Fornnax designed the SR-MAX2500 to cater to various sectors, including cement plants, waste-to-energy facilities, mechanical biological treatment centers, material recovery facilities (MRFs), construction and demolition recyclers, and aluminum recyclers. This versatility enhances the shredder’s appeal to a broad range of waste management operations.

Addressing India’s Waste Challenge

India generates approximately 62 million tons of waste annually, ranking among the top 10 countries for MSW production. Fornnax highlights the importance of prioritizing recycling and converting MSW into refuse-derived fuel (RDF) to tackle this pressing issue effectively.

Expansion Plans for Manufacturing Capacity

Looking ahead, Fornnax plans to expand its manufacturing capacity to meet growing demand. The company has recently acquired 23 acres of land in Ahmedabad, India, with operations expected to commence by March 2025. This new site will focus on producing machinery for metal processing, as well as tire, cable, and electronic scrap recycling.
