Redwood Materials has officially launched Redwood Energy, a new platform dedicated to transforming end-of-life EV battery packs into modular energy storage systems. Based in Carson City, Nevada, Redwood aims to repurpose used battery packs with more than 50% remaining capacity before full recycling. Through its proprietary control architecture and in-house evaluation system, Redwood determines whether battery packs are viable for reuse or direct recycling. Packs approved for reuse are integrated into modular storage systems that are either grid-connected or operate independently.
