Vaya Space Accelerates Propulsion System Manufacturing with Velo3D Technology

Vaya Space has entered a $4 million, two-year partnership with Velo3D to advance additive manufacturing of critical propulsion components. The agreement enables Vaya Space to leverage Velo3D’s Sapphire XC and XC1MZ metal 3D printing systems. These systems will produce parts using high-performance materials like GRCop42 and Inconel 718, essential for rocket engine assemblies.

This collaboration marks a significant step in scaling complex aerospace hardware manufacturing. Vaya Space will produce propulsion components such as nozzles, injectors, and turbopumps with improved speed and reduced costs. Velo3D will serve as the exclusive additive manufacturing provider for Vaya’s GRCop42 components, supporting ambitious aerospace projects.

 

Rapid Production System Enhances Aerospace Manufacturing Efficiency

Velo3D’s Rapid Production System, launched in March 2025, plays a central role in this partnership. The technology combines advanced metal additive manufacturing capabilities with engineering expertise to meet aerospace demand. According to Velo3D CEO Dr. Arun Jeldi, the system helps scale manufacturing efficiently within the U.S.

Vaya Space’s Vice President of Operations, Aaron Blankenship, emphasized that additive manufacturing reduces design complexity and boosts performance. The two companies will also collaborate on joint marketing and showcase their propulsion system at Vaya Space’s Florida testing facility.
