Winnebago Manufacturing Co., a family-owned metal fabrication business based in Blue Earth, Minnesota, has boosted its production capabilities with the installation of a new Faccin three-roll plate bending machine. The new equipment allows the company to handle thicker steel plates with greater precision, improving overall efficiency and enabling the company to meet the growing demand for complex, high-quality projects in industries like construction and agriculture.
Addressing Equipment Limitations to Meet Customer Demand
Winnebago Manufacturing, which offers a wide range of services such as plate and bar rolling, welding, machining, and finishing, was facing challenges with its previous equipment, especially when handling thicker steel plates. The company’s two existing Faccin four-roll plate bending machines, while effective for thinner materials, could not meet the increasing demand for rolling heavier steel plates with the required precision and efficiency.
Recognizing the need to upgrade, Winnebago turned to Faccin Group, with whom they had established a strong partnership over the years. After evaluating several options, the company decided on a new Faccin three-roll plate bending machine capable of handling materials up to 10 feet wide and rolling up to 2-inch thick high-strength steel plates. This decision was driven by the company’s need to keep up with evolving customer demands and to remain competitive in a rapidly changing market.
A Game-Changer for Efficiency and Quality
The addition of the new Faccin three-roll plate bending machine has already proven transformative for Winnebago Manufacturing. The machine’s advanced CNC system has allowed for faster setups and improved accuracy, significantly reducing cycle times and boosting throughput. As a result, Winnebago is now able to complete projects more quickly, which is crucial for meeting tighter production schedules and providing customers with the high-quality results they expect.
The machine’s ability to roll thicker, high-strength materials also opens up new opportunities for Winnebago to take on more complex and high-demand projects, particularly in industries such as construction and agricultural machinery, where precision and durability are essential.
Positioned for Long-Term Growth
Travis Pomranke, Sales Manager at Winnebago Manufacturing, emphasized the positive impact the new equipment has had on their operations. “The addition of Faccin’s three-roll plate bending machine has been a game-changer for our business. We’ve seen significant improvements in efficiency and quality, enabling us to meet customer demands like never before,” he said. Pomranke also noted that the investment positions Winnebago for long-term growth, strengthening its competitive edge in the metal fabrication market.
The successful integration of the new machine underscores Winnebago’s commitment to evolving with the industry and continuing to deliver high-quality, precision-driven metal fabrication services.
