1. Introduce

– Stainless steel developed for use in high temperature corrosion resistant applications

– Can be used in sulfur-containing atmospheres up to 1000°C

– Heat resistant steel with excellent oxidation resistance up to 1038℃ temperature range

– High Cr and Ni additions provide better corrosion resistance than 304 and similar high temperature strength to 18-8 stainless steel

: All 309 series are heat resistant steels characterized by good oxidation resistance up to 1038°C temperature range

: Chemical composition, mechanical properties, and physical properties are the same except for the amount of carbon

: Higher carbon content improves creep strength and lower carbon content improves weldability

– 309S : Carbon content 0.08% Maximum

– 309 : Carbon content 0.20% Maximum

– 309H : Carbon content 0.04~0.10% Maximum
