An agreement between Lundin Mining and the workers has officially brought the strike at the Caserones copper mine in Chile to a close. This labor action began in mid-August and involved around 30% of the workforce, lasting for one week until most union members accepted a new collective bargaining proposal from the company.
During the strike, operations at the mine were curtailed to approximately 50% capacity. With the resolution of the labor dispute, Lundin Mining plans to quickly resume full production at the site.
The Caserones mine, known for its open-pit operations, produces high-quality copper concentrate, copper cathode, and molybdenum concentrate. It plays a vital role in providing these essential metals for various industrial uses.
