The Alliance Family of Companies, based in Gary, Indiana, has launched Alliance Tubular Products (ATP) to enter the tubular products market. This move helps diversify Alliance’s portfolio and meet growing demand for specialized steel products. It also reinforces the company’s commitment to long-term growth and operational excellence. ATP will operate alongside Alliance Steel’s headquarters and processing facility in Gary. Production is already underway, with plans for expansion throughout 2025.

Advanced Tubular Manufacturing Capabilities

ATP brings new capabilities to the steel market, focusing on Electric Resistance Welded (ERW) products and Steel Hollow Structural Sections (HSS). The division offers specialized solutions, including square and rectangular sections from 1.5 to 5 inches (38 to 127 millimeters). It can produce lengths of up to 50 feet. ATP uses a fully automated direct form line, enhancing production speed, efficiency, and consistency to meet the high demands of customers.

Cost Efficiency and Flexibility with Automated Production

A key advantage of ATP is its ability to manufacture specialized shapes and sizes without needing costly new tooling. This allows ATP to produce various sizes and lengths quickly. The facility uses advanced manufacturing technology, ensuring faster lead times and greater flexibility for Alliance’s clients.

Strategic Leadership and Long-Term Growth

Carl Johnson, Vice President of ATP, brings extensive experience and leadership to the division. Under his leadership, ATP aims to maintain Alliance’s reputation for high-quality products and excellent customer service. This new division responds to market demand for tubular products requiring precision, efficiency, and scalability.

Alliance’s entry into the tubular products sector strengthens its position as a comprehensive steel solutions provider. This move solidifies its reputation for vertical integration across its family of companies. It also shows the company’s readiness to adapt to customer needs and maintain a competitive edge in the steel industry.
