Vice Speaker of the Sejm, Włodzimierz Czarzasty, confirmed ongoing talks and emphasized the investment’s importance for the Dąbrowa Basin and Poland’s economy. The government may provide up to PLN 1 billion to upgrade the blast furnace at the Dąbrowa Górnicza steel plant, formerly Huta Katowice.

This financial aid could ensure continuous steel production while enabling a cleaner process. ArcelorMittal Poland operates six steel assets in the country, producing critical products like rails up to 120 meters long. Supporting the company’s decarbonization efforts is vital for Poland’s industrial future and its energy transition goals.
