AMEXCI, EOS GmbH, and Saab are joining forces to develop advanced metal Additive Manufacturing (AM) solutions for the Finnish Navy’s Squadron 2020 project. This collaboration aims to enhance the Finnish Defence Forces’ ability to rapidly deploy new equipment and maintain critical industries through a resilient AM supply chain.
Strengthening Finland’s Supply Chain Resilience
The partnership focuses on delivering spare parts and new products for the Squadron 2020 project, leveraging AM to improve supply security. The initiative will also contribute to the rapid production of innovative equipment, enhancing the overall security of supply in Finland. By combining expertise from AMEXCI, EOS, and Saab, the project is expected to boost the country’s AM capabilities, benefiting both defense and other key industries.
Johannes Karjalainen, Managing Director of AMEXCI, emphasized the value of this collaboration, which will strengthen Finland’s resilience in challenging situations. EOS’s Paula Kainu added that the project would leverage their extensive experience with AM materials to develop tailored solutions, ensuring long-term benefits for numerous stakeholders.
