Strong Sales Growth for Interpipe in 2024

In 2024, Ukrainian industrial giant Interpipe reported a significant 32% year-on-year (y/y) increase in sales of tubular products, reaching a total of 511,000 tons. The growth is attributed to a surge in demand from key international markets, especially Europe and America. Interpipe’s expansion underscores its robust recovery and strong performance in the steel and pipe production sectors.

European and American Markets Lead the Way

Europe was the primary destination for Interpipe’s pipes, receiving 212,000 tons, a 64% increase compared to 2023. The American market followed closely with 98,000 tons, marking a 41% y/y growth. Despite this success, sales to the domestic Ukrainian market saw a 19% decline, amounting to 96,000 tons in 2024.

Interpipe’s focus on expanding its international reach aligns with its strategy to bolster exports. The company’s success in these key regions highlights its competitiveness in the global pipe market, which continues to experience increased demand in industries like energy and infrastructure.

Railway Products and Steel Production Performance

In addition to tubular products, Interpipe’s railway product sales also saw an impressive rise in 2024. The company sold 114,000 tons of railway products, marking a 21% increase from the previous year. Of this, Europe accounted for 76,000 tons, while the Ukrainian market consumed 17,000 tons. This growth is a testament to Interpipe’s strong position in the railway sector.

Steel production for Interpipe also saw a notable increase of 23%, reaching 834,000 tons in 2024. The company produced 507,000 tons of pipes, up 28% y/y, with line pipes and OCTG pipes making up the majority of the output. Additionally, production of railway products, including wheels, rose by 12%, underscoring Interpipe’s diversified production capacity.

SuperMetalPrice Commentary:

Interpipe’s strong performance in 2024 is a clear indicator of its resilience in the face of global economic challenges. The company’s growth in both pipe and railway product sales highlights its competitive advantage in key international markets. As global demand for energy and infrastructure continues to rise, Interpipe is well-positioned to maintain its position as one of the world’s top pipe producers.

The company’s strategic focus on expanding its European and American market presence, combined with its consistent investments in production capacity, will likely ensure its continued success in 2025 and beyond.
