Plus Metal takes a strategic leap in aerospace by adopting Hiperbaric’s advanced HIP 93 system in Taiwan.
Taiwan-based aerospace manufacturer Plus Metal is installing a Hot Isostatic Pressing (HIP) system from Spain’s Hiperbaric. The HIP 93 unit is one of the largest in Hiperbaric’s portfolio and will support Plus Metal’s expansion into high-performance aerospace components.

As a result, this investment positions Plus Metal to enhance its production capacity for advanced parts.
HIP technology improves structural integrity by removing internal porosity and increasing resistance to fatigue and thermal stress. Moreover, it enables the production of complex geometries with higher consistency. Both Powder Metallurgy (PM) and Additive Manufacturing (AM) components benefit from this process.

HIP Technology Delivers Superior Component Quality for Aerospace

Importantly, HIP strengthens critical components where performance under extreme conditions is required.
The technology plays a key role in improving durability, precision, and thermal stability—core needs in aerospace. As the industry seeks lighter yet stronger materials, HIP allows manufacturers to meet rising expectations.

Therefore, Plus Metal’s adoption of this system reflects its forward-looking strategy in global aerospace supply.

Hiperbaric Provides Fast Cooling HIP with Proven Safety Features

Hiperbaric leverages over 25 years of high-pressure innovation to develop efficient HIP systems.
CEO Andrés Hernando highlighted the company’s expertise with equipment operating at up to 6,000 bar. Hiperbaric’s coiled vessel design increases reliability and safety while minimizing failure risks. Additionally, the Fast Cooling technology reduces cycle times by acting as an internal heat exchanger.

Consequently, this system shortens production cycles while maintaining thermal uniformity and metallurgical quality.

Plus Metal Chairman Lin Zansheng confirmed that the new system secures Taiwan’s position in the global aerospace supply chain. This collaboration underscores the growing importance of HIP in delivering consistent and high-value aerospace components.

Ultimately, this project strengthens both companies in the competitive high-performance materials market.
SuperMetalPrice will continue to monitor HIP technology’s impact on aerospace alloys and market pricing.
