Renishaw Launches RenAM 500D Dual-Laser Additive Manufacturing System
Renishaw, a leader in Additive Manufacturing (AM), has introduced the RenAM 500D at Formnext 2024. This state-of-the-art dual-laser Laser Beam Powder Bed Fusion (PBF-LB) machine aims to improve productivity, flexibility, and cost-efficiency, advancing the RenAM 500 series. By lowering the barriers to high-productivity additive manufacturing, the RenAM 500D enables businesses to enhance operations without needing large production space expansions.
Dual-Laser System for Increased Productivity
The RenAM 500D is equipped with two 500W lasers. These lasers can simultaneously cover the entire build platform, speeding up manufacturing times compared to traditional single-laser systems. The RenAM 500D Ultra variant incorporates TEMPUS technology, which enables the laser to fire while the recoater moves, cutting build layer time by up to nine seconds. As a result, the RenAM 500D operates up to three times faster than single-laser machines, providing greater productivity without needing additional space.
Seamless Integration with Existing Systems
The RenAM 500D is designed for easy integration with existing Additive Manufacturing systems. It is compatible with Renishaw’s AM software suite, including Renishaw Central and QuantAM. This ensures that businesses already using AM technologies can smoothly adopt the new dual-laser system, without disrupting their current workflows. The system’s intelligent gas flow and customizable powder handling further enhance its efficiency and versatility for various applications.
Making High-Quality AM Systems Accessible to More Industries
Renishaw’s goal with the RenAM 500D is to democratize access to high-quality Additive Manufacturing technology. By providing a more productive and cost-efficient solution, the RenAM 500D encourages broader adoption of AM across industries. The system not only boosts speed and quality but also ensures that companies of all sizes can leverage advanced AM technology to innovate in their sectors.
