1. Introduce
– A member of the platinum group, has good high temperature stability, high melting point (2334℃) and boiling point (4150℃)
– Insoluble in most acids, does not react with oxygen at room temperature, and is insoluble in royal water below 100℃
– Mainly used as a hardening agent to increase the hardness of platinum and palladium, and to improve the corrosion resistance of titanium
– Effects of Ru alloying elements: Improves hardness of platinum and palladium, improves corrosion resistance of titanium
