TotalEnergies has entered a long-term LNG supply deal with Energia Natural Dominicana (ENADOM) to support the Dominican Republic’s energy transition. The agreement outlines an annual delivery of 400,000 tons of liquefied natural gas (LNG) starting in mid-2027, for a term of 15 years.

LNG Supply Deal Backs Growing Energy Demand

This new agreement ensures a stable LNG supply to a 470 MW combined-cycle power plant under construction in the Dominican Republic. The plant aims to expand national power generation while reducing reliance on coal and fuel oil.

TotalEnergies will price the LNG based on the Henry Hub index. The LNG will come from the company’s growing U.S. supply portfolio, aligning with its strategy to reinforce its presence in the Caribbean energy market.

ENADOM, a joint venture between AES Dominicana and Energas, will handle natural gas distribution. The partnership reflects growing confidence in the region’s energy infrastructure and long-term economic stability.

TotalEnergies Strengthens Its Global LNG Leadership

TotalEnergies continues to strengthen its position as a global leader in the liquefied natural gas (LNG) sector. As part of this strategy, it will supply LNG to ENADOM in the Dominican Republic. This supports the country’s transition toward cleaner and more sustainable energy.

In addition, the agreement creates a reliable demand for LNG exports from TotalEnergies’ growing U.S. portfolio. This move reflects the company’s focus on long-term supply security and international expansion.

Gregory Joffroy, Senior Vice President LNG at TotalEnergies, explained the deal strengthens their LNG strategy and backs regional decarbonization efforts.

Clearly, this agreement marks a major step in diversifying the country’s energy matrix. Furthermore, it highlights ongoing efforts to lower carbon intensity and attract global energy investment.
