Berlin.Industrial.Group (BIG) has confirmed the second edition of WAAMathon, the premier conference dedicated to Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing (WAAM), will be held on May 21, 2025, at the Hotel Steigenberger am Kanzleramt in Berlin, Germany. This event is designed to advance the understanding and development of WAAM technology, a wire-based Directed Energy Deposition (DED) method that has shown significant promise in various industries, including aerospace, automotive, and manufacturing.
Focus on Process Optimization and Applications
WAAMathon #2 aims to bring together experts from research and industry to explore the latest developments in WAAM technology. Discussions will focus on process optimization, the handling of diverse materials, and showcasing specific applications. As WAAM continues to grow, the conference will highlight its potential for precision manufacturing, offering a cost-effective and flexible alternative to traditional methods. The event will provide in-depth insights into how WAAM can be applied across industries like aerospace, automotive, and heavy machinery, making it relevant to engineers, manufacturers, and industry stakeholders.
Key Speakers and Industry Experts
The event will be chaired by Tom Lüders from BIG and Stefanie Brickwede, Managing Director of Mobility goes Additive eV. Several industry leaders and academic experts will be presenting, including Carl Fruth, CEO of FIT AG, Uwe Jurdeczka from ALSTOM Transport, and Elvir Murati from Howden, as well as Jonas Hensel from TU Chemnitz. This diverse range of speakers ensures the conference will cover both practical and theoretical aspects of WAAM, with valuable perspectives from those who are shaping the technology’s future.
Early-Bird Registration Available
