High-Grade Antimony Discovery Highlights Strong Drill Results

American Tungsten & Antimony reported high-grade antimony results from its Little Emma Prospect in Utah.
The initial drilling confirmed shallow stibnite mineralisation and validated the company’s geological model.

Key intercepts included 11.03 metres grading 3.1% antimony from 25.91 metres, including 2.62 metres at 12.54%.
Another intercept returned 8.47 metres at 2.67% antimony from 31.15 metres, with 2.2 metres grading 9.69%.

These results suggest a potentially large antimony system within the Antimony Canyon Project.
Early success reinforces the prospect’s district-scale potential, with more than 20 historic antimony mines nearby.

Strategic Importance of the Discovery for U.S. Supply Chains

The discovery underscores antimony’s critical role in U.S. national security.
The metal is essential for defence systems, semiconductors, batteries, flame retardants, and advanced alloys.

Currently, the United States relies heavily on foreign sources, particularly China, for antimony.
Domestic projects like Antimony Canyon could strengthen North American supply chains and reduce strategic dependencies.

American Tungsten & Antimony continues to expand its U.S. portfolio, including the Tennessee Mountain, Sage Hen, Nightingale, and Dutch Mountain Tungsten Projects.
These projects aim to rebuild the domestic supply of critical metals for industrial and defence applications.

Expanding U.S. Tungsten and Antimony Exploration Portfolio

The company reported exceptional grades in early drilling, with assays reaching 66.47% antimony.
Four of the first seven holes intersected mineralisation, indicating strong continuity in the system.

These results compare favourably with major North American deposits, including the Stibnite Gold Project in Idaho.
Further drilling will determine the full scale and commercial potential of the Antimony Canyon system.

SuperMetalPrice Commentary:

This high-grade antimony discovery comes at a critical moment for U.S. mineral security.
With global supply concentrated in China, domestic sources become strategically vital.
If continued drilling confirms scale, Antimony Canyon could become a cornerstone of the U.S. antimony supply chain for defence, energy, and advanced manufacturing sectors.

These days, there is a lot of talk about strategic minerals such as rare earths and antimony, and it seems that the United States is also paying close attention to building its own supply chain. Especially metals that are needed in the defense or semiconductor sectors are bound to be more sensitive. The results of the initial drilling alone show that there is a lot of potential, but it remains to be seen whether it will lead to actual commercial production. However, as these projects increase, the competition for resources will likely become fiercer in the future.
