Underground Development Commences at Majestic Gold Mine

Black Cat Syndicate has started underground mining at the Majestic site, part of the Kal East Gold Project. The site lies 45km southeast of Kalgoorlie, in Western Australia. This is the company’s first underground mine in the region. It marks a key milestone in their “More Gold, Sooner” strategy.

Macmahon Holdings, a top Australian mining contractor, won a 12-month deal worth A$55 million (US$35.6 million). Macmahon will lead development and production at Majestic during this period. The mine is located near Black Cat’s Lakewood processing facility. This close proximity helps reduce transport costs and streamline operations.

Majestic aims to extract 776,000 tonnes of ore at 3.2g/t, targeting 80,000 ounces of gold. Around 63% of this target is already listed as Ore Reserve. This provides a solid base for early-stage production and revenue generation.

Black Cat Syndicate Focuses on Expansion and Resource Growth

While mining activities begin, Black Cat Syndicate is preparing for aggressive underground drilling to extend resource boundaries. The current orebody remains open at depth and along strike, presenting strong upside potential. The company is also working on dewatering systems and portal ground support, ensuring infrastructure is in place to sustain operations long term.

Meanwhile, equipment mobilisation has begun at the nearby Fingals open pit, signaling parallel development across multiple deposits within the Kal East portfolio. Black Cat expects these operations to sustain ore feed to the Lakewood plant, securing consistent output into the foreseeable future.

According to Managing Director Gareth Solly, these milestones align closely with the company’s growth vision: “Developing Majestic underground marks another milestone as we deliver on our strategy of More Gold, Sooner.”

SuperMetalPrice Commentary:

Black Cat Syndicate’s move into underground production at Majestic signals growing confidence in Kal East’s gold potential. The strategic use of a seasoned contractor like Macmahon ensures execution strength, while the proximity to Lakewood enhances logistical efficiency. Investors should watch drilling updates closely, as additional resource conversion could significantly raise output forecasts. With gold prices strong, the timing couldn’t be better for ramping up high-grade underground operations.
