Eplus3D, a Chinese leader in metal additive manufacturing (AM), showcased its new advancements in copper 3D printing at the 2025 TCT Asia event. The company’s latest development overcomes copper’s challenges, such as low absorption and high reflectivity for red laser-powered powder bed fusion. Eplus3D achieved this milestone through process optimizations, rather than hardware upgrades.

Overcoming Copper 3D Printing Challenges

Copper has posed significant challenges in 3D printing due to its low laser energy absorption and high reflectivity. Eplus3D addressed these issues with innovative process optimizations. As a result, the company successfully validated the mechanical properties of copper-chromium-zirconium (C18150), a copper alloy. The optimized process allows Eplus3D to produce copper parts with a remarkable density of 99.97%.

Leading Multi-Laser Technology and Expanding Capabilities

Eplus3D continues to push boundaries with multi-laser technology. At TCT Asia 2025, the company introduced its EP-M2050 system, equipped with 64 lasers. This integration boosts production speed and precision. The company also unveiled the EP-M1550 system, which features 16 lasers but can be upgraded to 25 lasers. This system offers a build plate size of 1558 x 1558 x 1200 mm, which can extend up to 2000 mm. Additionally, Eplus3D has delivered over 100 “super-meter” 3D printers, with over 40 systems offering build sizes exceeding one meter.

Global Expansion and Industry Growth

Alongside its technological advances, Eplus3D is expanding into the UK market, forming a partnership with AM Futures. This move strengthens the company’s global presence and solidifies its role in the growing additive manufacturing industry.

TCT Asia: A Hub for Metal 3D Printing Innovation

TCT Asia continues to serve as a key platform for showcasing breakthroughs in metal 3D printing. Eplus3D’s innovations were featured alongside other major industry players. Companies like Farsoon Technologies unveiled its 32-laser FS1521M-U system, while others, including Hunan Vanguard Co., Ltd, Shenzhen Addireen Technologies, and FastForm Technology Co., Ltd, also showcased exciting developments. These launches reinforce TCT Asia’s status as a central hub for advancing metal additive manufacturing technologies.
