Erdemir Enhances Production with Renovated Coke Oven Battery

Erdemir, one of Turkey’s leading steel producers, has completed a significant upgrade with the installation of a renovated coke oven battery. This new facility, Battery No. 4, replaces older units that had been in operation since 1965. With an annual production capacity of 800,000 tons, the revamped battery is designed to enhance the company’s coke production, reduce dependence on imports, and improve overall cost efficiency. The advanced automation and dust collection systems also contribute to Erdemir’s commitment to sustainability and environmental performance.

 

Isdemir’s New Blast Furnace Boosts Efficiency and Output

Simultaneously, Isdemir, another member of the OYAK Mining and Metallurgical Group, has launched a newly reconstructed blast furnace No. 1, which is now the largest in Turkey. This furnace, with a capacity to produce 2.8 million tons of pig iron annually, promises increased operational efficiency and reduced costs. The furnace features modernized technologies, such as an increased number of tuyeres and pouring holes, which enable faster and more efficient production. Additionally, the furnace’s optimized heating system and raw material supply system contribute to reduced energy consumption, further supporting Isdemir’s commitment to sustainable manufacturing practices.
