Golden Cross Advances Reedy Creek Gold Exploration with Strong Assay Results
Golden Cross Resources delivered promising assay results from its Reedy Creek drilling program in Victoria, Australia. The company completed over 2,300 metres of diamond drilling in 10 holes, focusing on the Prince of Wales target. Early results include significant gold intercepts, such as 10.8 metres at 2.08 g/t Au. These findings confirm multiple vein sets and sulphide mineralization typical of orogenic gold systems. Moreover, they validate Golden Cross’s targeted exploration strategy near renowned goldfields like Fosterville and Costerfield.
The drilling campaign enhanced the 3D geological model with crucial subsurface data. Additionally, re-sampling historic drill cores yielded new results, including 23 metres at 3.01 g/t Au and 9 metres at 3.64 g/t Au. These results reinforce the continuity and scale potential of the mineralized zones. Visible gold in several holes further supports the project’s potential to host significant Victorian-style gold deposits.
Strategic Targeting Drives Ongoing Exploration at Reedy Creek
Golden Cross applies a strategic drilling approach to refine exploration targets using structural and geological data. This method identified dilation zones and gold halos, suggesting current drilling intersects the outer parts of a larger gold system. The company plans to ramp up efforts with a fully funded 10,000-metre Phase 2 drill campaign. Two rigs are active, aiming to expand resources and unlock the project’s full potential.
Furthermore, the approach includes re-sampling historic cores to confirm assay data and detect arsenic and antimony pathfinder elements. These elements help pinpoint gold mineralization. The strong arsenic-gold correlation found in drill data provides an excellent vectoring tool for future drilling.
SuperMetalPrice Commentary:
Golden Cross Resources’ Reedy Creek results show strong potential for Victorian-style orogenic gold beyond known goldfields. The mix of modern drilling and historic core resampling forms a robust discovery strategy. As exploration advances, focus on structural targeting and geochemical pathfinders could drive resource growth. Investors should watch Golden Cross’s Phase 2 drilling closely, as it may reshape gold prospects in this active Australian corridor.
