1. Introduce
– Cast nickel-based alloy used in onshore gas turbine engines
– Introduced to replace the cobalt-based alloy FSX-414 as the second and third stage nozzle material in gas turbines

– Maintains excellent mechanical properties up to 760°C through precipitation hardening and solid solution strengthening

– FSX-414 gas turbine nozzle: frequent maintenance required due to creep deflection caused by high combustion temperature
– GTD 222 : Material with improved creep resistance and better weldability, oxidation and thermal corrosion resistance than FSX-414 (Approx. 93℃ improvement in creep resistance, 200% improvement in creep strength)
→ Limitations (creep deflection characteristics) of FSX-414 gas turbine nozzles can be minimized or eliminated
– Tensile strength : GTD 222 is superior to FSX-414
