1. Introduce
– Ni – Cr – Mo – (W) alloy with enhanced resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking
– Higher Cr content, lower Mo content compared to Hastelloy C276
(C22 : Cr 20.00 ~ 22.00% , Mo 12.50 ~ 14.50%) / (C276 : Cr 16.50%, Mo 15.00 ~ 17.00)
– Excellent resistance to a variety of corrosive environments including acids and chlorides, especially effective in applications with hydrochloric, sulfuric and phosphoric acids
– UNS N06022
* UNS
- Abbreviation of Unified Numbering Systems for Metals and Alloys
- Unified numbering system for metals and alloys
- A representative number that is compatible with metals and alloys defined in many material – related codes such as ASTM, AISI, ASME, AWS, etc.
* N : Nickel and nickel alloys
* UNS N06022 : 06XXX : Chromium (Hastelloy, Inconel, some with additional element)
* Hastelloy
– Corrosion – resistant alloy with Ni as the main component
– Excellent machinability and weldability
* Hastelloy C
(1) Main composition
– Ni – Cr – Mo
(2) Characteristics
– Oxidation resistance alloy : Excellent oxidation resistance due to large amount of Cr added
– Excellent corrosion resistance in oxidizing atmospheres such as nitric acid and chlorine due to the addition of a large amount of Cr
2. Property
– General corrosion, erosion, crevice corrosion, intergranular corrosion, stress corrosion cracking resistance, good weldability
– Good corrosion resistance to hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, phosphoric acid, and chlorides
| Element | Impact |
