1. Introduce
– Ni-Cr-Mo-(W) alloy with enhanced resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion and stress corrosion cracking in a wide range of severe environments
– Low content of C, Si : Improved intergranular corrosion resistance, less susceptible to intergranular corrosion, prevent welding heat affected zone corrosion
→ Minimizes carbide precipitation during welding to maintain resistance to intergranular attack in the heat affected zone of welded joints
– UNS N10276
* High C content → more precipitated carbides in grains → lower corrosion resistance
* High Si, C content → tendency to form second phase in the last stage of solidification → tensile strain/stress action → high temperature cracking, poor weldability (widen the solidification temperature range)
* UNS
- Abbreviation of Unified Numbering Systems for Metals and Alloys
- Unified unique numbering system for metals and alloys
- A representative number that is compatible with metals and alloys defined in many material-related codes such as ASTM, AISI, ASME, AWS, etc.
* N : Nickel and nickel alloys
* UNS N10276 : 10XXX : Molybdenum(Hastelloy)
* Hastelloy
