Olympic Steel Acquires MetalWorks to Expand Product Offerings

Olympic Steel Acquires MetalWorks

Olympic Steel Inc., headquartered in Cleveland, has successfully acquired MetalWorks, a prominent manufacturer of specialty components made from coated carbon steel and aluminum. The acquisition includes MetalWorks’ facilities located in Oakwood, Georgia, where it produces essential parts for multiple industries such as automotive, construction, and renewable energy. Notable products include components for service station canopies, deck clips, long gutters, trim, boat docks, and solar canopy and ground racking components. This strategic acquisition strengthens Olympic Steel’s product offerings and extends its reach into additional industrial sectors.

Strategic Acquisition to Enhance Product Range

With the addition of MetalWorks, Olympic Steel significantly broadens its portfolio, particularly in value-added services like roll forming and folding. The acquisition introduces MetalWorks’ advanced manufacturing capabilities, with its operations spread across two facilities covering a total of 48,720 square feet of processing space on 8.43 acres in Oakwood, Georgia. MetalWorks will continue to operate under its established name and leadership, with Ben Houston remaining as president, ensuring continuity and stability for its workforce.

Continued Growth and Future Integration

This acquisition will be integrated into Olympic Steel’s carbon flat-rolled business segment, expected to improve the overall performance of both companies. The integration process will strengthen Olympic Steel’s market position, opening opportunities for enhanced customer offerings and increased market reach. Despite the acquisition, MetalWorks will maintain its independent operations, preserving its current management structure and leadership.

With the acquisition of MetalWorks, Olympic Steel continues to advance its strategic growth, expanding its manufacturing capabilities and increasing its ability to serve a wider range of industries with high-quality metal components.
