Olympic Steel Acquires MetalWorks to Expand Product Offerings

Olympic Steel Acquires MetalWorks

Cleveland-based Olympic Steel Inc. has completed the acquisition of MetalWorks, a manufacturer of specialty components made from coated carbon steel and aluminum.
The acquisition includes MetalWorks’ facilities in Oakwood, Georgia, where the company produces parts for a variety of industries, including automotive, construction, and renewable energy. The products manufactured by MetalWorks include components for service station canopies, deck clips, long gutters, trim, boat docks, as well as solar canopy and ground racking components.

Strategic Acquisition to Strengthen Olympic Steel’s Product Range
By acquiring MetalWorks, Olympic Steel expands its portfolio of value-added services, particularly in roll forming and folding, through the addition of MetalWorks’ advanced manufacturing capabilities. The business operates from two facilities with a total of 48,720 square feet of processing space, situated on 8.43 acres in Oakwood, Georgia. MetalWorks will continue to operate under its current name and leadership, with Ben Houston remaining as president.

Continued Growth and Integration
The acquisition will be integrated into Olympic Steel’s carbon flat-rolled business segment, which is expected to enhance the overall performance and market reach of both companies. Despite the acquisition, MetalWorks will maintain its independent operations under its existing management structure.
