Plenitude Completes Construction of Largest Battery Storage Facility in Texas

Plenitude, Battery Storage Facility in Texas

Plenitude, via Eni New Energy US, has finished building its largest battery storage system. The Guajillo plant, located in Webb County, Southwest Texas, has a capacity of 200MW. It uses lithium-ion LFP batteries. These batteries efficiently store renewable energy. This energy meets high market demand.

Strategic Location and Solar Farm Synergy

Guajillo is located next to Plenitude’s Corazon Solar Farm. This 800-hectare site allows for operational synergies. The battery system stores excess energy from the solar farm. This improves grid stability. It supports renewable energy integration. Commercial operation starts by mid-2025. The plant will stabilize the regional power system. This is crucial as renewable energy generation grows rapidly.

Plenitude’s Energy Storage Leadership and Expansion

The Guajillo completion positions Plenitude as a leader in energy storage. This strengthens its renewable energy footprint in the U.S. Plenitude has reached 1.5 GW of installed capacity in the U.S. This project aligns with Plenitude’s global goals. The company aims for 8 GW of installed capacity by 2027. Plenitude advances renewable energy solutions.
