1. Introduce

– The first production single crystal alloy

– Single crystal (SC) only alloy

– Improved melting point of the alloy without adding grain boundary strengthening elements

– Full employment of coarse-grained precipitation γ’ phase by high-temperature solubilization treatment, and fine re-precipitation is possible

* PWA Alloy : Mainly applied to airfoil (or airfoil) compressor blades of turbine engine fans

* Single crystal (SC) : A solid in which the entire crystal is regular along the crystal axis

* Solubilization treatment : Heating to a temperature where all the solid solution is re-dissolved in the base material and cooling to room temperature after a period of time to prevent the solid solution from precipitating out, creating a supersaturated phase, and improving hardness and mechanical strength
