Secure Recycling, located in Solon, Ohio, has expanded its e-scrap shredding capabilities by investing in state-of-the-art shredding technology. These improvements have significantly increased throughput, enhanced efficiency, and supported the company’s commitment to environmental sustainability.
In 2020, Secure Recycling began scaling its operations with the purchase of an RS100 shredder from Untha America, an equipment company based in Hampton, New Jersey. This investment established a reliable foundation for the company’s recycling operations. As Secure Recycling grew, the need for more processing power became evident. To meet this demand, the company added two new shredders: the ZR2400W and XR3000C Mobile-e models.
Enhanced Throughput and Reduced Downtime
The new shredders have become vital to Secure Recycling’s operations. President Mario Jurcic praises the shredders for their durability and ease of maintenance. These qualities have enabled the company to take on more complex projects and push the limits of what is possible in e-waste recycling.
The ZR2400W preshredder has significantly reduced energy consumption. It now handles larger and heavier materials, such as printers and stadium-sized LED panels, with greater ease. Meanwhile, the XR3000C shredder boasts a robust design that processes unshreddable objects without sustaining damage. It has increased throughput by up to four times compared to the RS100 shredder.
This upgrade has also minimized downtime. Secure Recycling reports its lowest operational interruptions to date, contributing directly to the company’s continued growth. Additionally, the new shredders’ energy-efficient design has helped reduce costs, allowing the company to operate more sustainably.
Boosting Processing Capacity and Sustainability
Secure Recycling now processes up to 7 metric tons of electronic scrap per hour, depending on the material. The shredders produce 2-inch particle sizes, which are then further separated using advanced technologies to maximize resource recovery. This increase in efficiency has unlocked new market opportunities and reinforced Secure Recycling’s growth trajectory.
As a RIOS-certified recycler, Secure Recycling continues to uphold its commitment to sustainability and responsible IT asset disposition (ITAD). The company provides secure recycling solutions for individuals, corporations, and government entities across the U.S., ensuring compliance and protecting sensitive data.
Commitment to Innovation and Industry Excellence
Untha America Sales Manager Charles Hildebrand commended Secure Recycling for its dedication to innovation in e-waste recycling. He emphasized that the collaboration between the two companies demonstrates the power of Untha’s shredding technology, which offers reliable, cost-effective solutions for high-volume electronic scrap processing.
By adopting these advanced shredders, Secure Recycling has reaffirmed its commitment to sustainable IT asset disposition practices. With these improvements, the company is well-positioned to achieve continued success in the rapidly evolving recycling industry.
