1. Introduce
– A titanium alloy made by adding a small amount of the precious metal Pd to industrial pure titanium
– Metal resistant to crevice corrosion among titanium types
– Mechanical properties (yield strength, tensile strength, elongation) are similar to Ti Gr.2, but a small amount of Pd (Max. 0.2%) is added to provide excellent resistance to corrosion by acid
– Offers the same excellent properties as pure titanium grades while providing improved corrosion resistance
– Excellent heat resistance to temperatures up to 800°C
– UNS R52400
* UNS
- Abbreviation for Unified Numbering Systems for Metals and Alloys
- Unified unique numbering system for metals and alloys
- A representative number that is compatible with metals and alloys defined in many material-related codes such as ASTM, AISI, ASME, AWS, etc.
* R : Reactive and Refractory Metals and Alloys
* UNS R52400 : 5XXXX : Titanium
2. Property
– Crevice corrosion resistance, weldability, machinability, corrosion resistance, tensile strength, long service life, good resistance to high temperature and high pressure
| Element | Impact |
|---|---|
| Pd | Provides corrosion resistance of the alloy in oxidizing and reducing media, provides crevice corrosion resistance (Pd content less than 0.05% : corrosion rate increases, Pd content 0.1~0.2% : corrosion rate decreases) (Crevice corrosion does not occur when the service temperature reaches 250℃) |
