
Trinity Gas Storage, LLC has launched Phase I of its 24 Bcf gas storage facility in East Texas. This project marks a significant milestone for Texas energy infrastructure. Located in Anderson County, it’s the first new gas storage facility in Texas in over ten years. Furthermore, Trinity Gas Storage completed construction in just 16 months. This rapid development highlights the company’s efficiency.
Addressing Texas Energy Needs
The facility addresses critical supply and reliability issues. Notably, it responds to challenges exposed during Winter Storm Uri. Moreover, the facility provides essential flexibility. This flexibility supports the rising energy demands from AI and data centers. Additionally, it balances natural gas supply and demand. This ensures reliability during peak electricity usage.
Expansion Plans and Future Outlook
Trinity Gas Storage has secured contracts with power generators, utilities, and LNG companies. Consequently, the demand for their services is growing. Therefore, the company plans to expand. Phase II will be completed in the second quarter of 2026. This expansion will enhance the facility’s capacity and deliverability. CEO Jim Goetz emphasized the facility’s role in Texas energy security. He also noted its support from Transition Equity Partners and Pan Capital Management LP.
