Envision Energy has secured a pivotal contract for a 1.1GW onshore wind farm in Egypt’s Gulf of Suez region. Developed by ACWA Power, a Saudi-based leader in energy transition, the project will become one of the largest wind farms in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), bolstering Egypt’s renewable energy capacity and supporting the region’s sustainable development goals.
A Major Step for Egypt’s Renewable Energy Future
A landmark wind farm project in Egypt will utilize 138 state-of-the-art 8 MW wind turbines. Envision Energy will supply these turbines. Suez Wind Energy—a joint venture between ACWA Power and HAU Energy—manages the project. These turbines are designed for high wind speeds. Also, they withstand Egypt’s challenging, sandy environments.
Envision Energy will provide long-term maintenance services. The turbines are expected to deliver reliable, high-performance energy production for 25 years. This ensures a stable and lasting energy source.
Kane Xu, Senior Vice President of Envision Energy, expressed enthusiasm. He stated the project represents a significant step. It scales renewable energy in the MENA region. The turbines’ adaptability is crucial. Envision’s advanced Galileo system backs this. This optimizes energy capture. Consequently, the wind farm meets Egypt’s growing energy needs. Therefore, it minimizes environmental impact.
SuperMetalPrice finds that the wind farm strengthens Egypt’s renewable energy infrastructure. Furthermore, it attracts further investment. It drives innovation and creates job opportunities. This marks a key milestone in MENA’s clean energy journey.
