Danish Response: Increased Defense Investments
Denmark’s commitment to strengthening Greenland’s defense infrastructure was revealed by Danish Defence Minister Troels Lund Poulsen, who confirmed that the country would invest billions of Danish kroner into Greenland’s security. While exact figures were not disclosed, estimates suggest that the defense spending could range from €1.34 billion to €13.27 billion. The enhanced defense strategy aims to ensure that Greenland remains secure and autonomous amid mounting international interest in the region.

In response to Trump’s repeated suggestion that the US should seek ownership of Greenland for national security purposes, Greenland’s Prime Minister Mute Egede strongly rejected the idea, affirming that Greenland is not for sale.
