A Breakthrough in On-Demand Manufacturing and Metal Repair

ADDiTEC launched the AMDROiD X Laser Directed Energy Deposition (DED) system at the MILAM 2025 trade show in Tampa, Florida. This advanced machine is designed for industries like defense, construction, energy, and emergency response. It targets on-demand manufacturing and metal repair with its portable, energy-efficient, and self-sustaining capabilities.

Innovative Features for Remote and Harsh Environments

The AMDROiD X stands out due to its flexible, modular design. The system features a 10-foot container that expands to 169 square feet. It’s equipped with a nitrogen generator, eliminating the need for external shielding gases. This design ensures it can operate efficiently in tough conditions. Additionally, the machine is powered by 54 kWh of storage, which can be recharged via solar energy, making it ideal for off-grid locations.

Efficient Performance and Versatile Applications

The AMDROiD X uses a 12 kW Ultra High Power fiber laser, capable of processing materials like stainless steel, aluminum, and copper. It prints at speeds of 4 kg/hr and supports a build volume of 1.4 x 1.4 x 1.47 meters. With a layer thickness capacity between 0.6-1.8 mm, it can handle complex geometries and multi-axis designs. Its built-in software, combined with Siemens and ABB robotics, enables precise motion control and intricate printing processes.

Revolutionizing the Defense Sector and Beyond

Brian Matthews, CEO of ADDiTEC, praised the AMDROiD X’s design and impact: “This system is perfectly suited for the defense sector, but its capabilities extend across various industries. Its adaptability and quick deployment make it indispensable for remote, off-grid operations.”

The system’s self-sufficiency and ability to operate with minimal external resources position it as a powerful tool for industries needing high-quality manufacturing solutions in challenging environments.

A New Era of On-Demand Manufacturing

The AMDROiD X system marks a significant shift in on-demand manufacturing. Its portability, solar-powered capabilities, and advanced laser technology make it an essential asset in today’s fast-paced industries. ADDiTEC’s solution promises to redefine production processes, offering industries new levels of flexibility and efficiency.
