Rare Earths Americas (NYSE American: REA) announced a major territorial expansion. The company established the Foothills Rare Earths District in Georgia. Building upon its flagship Shiloh project, recent exploratory drilling confirmed widespread mineralized monazite-bearing sands. This signals a district-scale resource base that could significantly alter the domestic critical minerals landscape.

District-Scale Expansion at Liberty Peak

The newly formed Foothills Rare Earths District is massive. It spans an area approximately 17.5 times larger than the original Shiloh target area of over 22,000 acres. Exploratory drilling at the district’s Liberty Peak target successfully identified high-grade monazite sands. This target is located more than 50 kilometers away from Shiloh. Initial assay results from drilling that commenced in late Q1 revealed mineralized intercepts up to 10 meters wide. Multiple drill holes terminated in mineralization, indicating that deposits remain open at depth.

Strategic Focus on Critical Magnet Materials

Surface sampling and drilling at Shiloh previously yielded total rare earth oxide (TREO) grades of up to 44.5%. REA is strategically positioning itself to supply the domestic supply chain for heavy rare earth elements. These critical minerals are essential for manufacturing permanent magnets. Permanent magnets are utilized in electric vehicles, wind turbines, and advanced defense applications. The company made its public debut on the NYSE American in May. It currently controls four primary exploration assets, including its advanced Alpha project in Bahia, Brazil. An SK-1300 initial assessment is currently underway at the Alpha project.

Securing the U.S. Rare Earth Supply Chain

Western economies are accelerating the energy transition. They are also seeking alternatives to imported critical minerals. Domestic exploration projects like the Foothills district are gaining critical importance. Rare Earths Americas aims to establish a secure and scalable domestic source of rare earth elements. The company confirms geological continuity across multiple properties, including Liberty Peak and three additional high-priority targets. This effort helps reduce long-term supply vulnerability for advanced manufacturing sectors.
