Deloitte and CAS Release Key Report on Lithium-Ion Battery Recycling

Deloitte and CAS, Lithium-Ion Battery Recycling Report

Deloitte and CAS have teamed up to release a significant report on the growing lithium-ion battery (LIB) recycling sector. This collaboration marks their first major project since their partnership began last year.

Rising Demand for EVs and Renewable Energy Fuels LIB Recycling Growth

The increasing demand for electric vehicles (EVs), renewable energy storage, and consumer electronics has accelerated the need for sustainable lithium-ion battery recycling solutions. The report outlines how these trends are driving innovation within the recycling industry.

The report provides an in-depth analysis of the LIB recycling market. It highlights key technological advancements and emerging business strategies. It also examines the industry’s role in addressing resource shortages and environmental challenges. Moreover, it emphasizes the importance of efficient recycling methods to ensure the availability of critical materials for clean energy solutions.

The report explores six key areas of focus that are transforming the LIB recycling landscape: policy, capacity expansion, technological advancements, digital solutions, cross-sector collaborations, and profitable pathways. It explains how new technologies and digital solutions are improving the efficiency of recycling processes. These advancements are increasing recovery rates and reducing the environmental impact of battery disposal.

Kevin Guo, Deloitte China’s National Industry Program Leader, commented, “Science and technology are evolving rapidly, and we look forward to collaborating with CAS to drive sustainable change in the industry.”

Manual Guzman, CAS President, highlighted the importance of their joint efforts. “Combining CAS’s scientific data and Deloitte’s business insights, we aim to tackle global challenges, especially in sustainable energy,” he said. Their collaboration supports innovators in making better business decisions and accelerating the transition to a low-carbon economy.
