Metalformers in the U.S. and Canada maintain a cautious business outlook for the next three months, according to the April report from the Precision Manufacturing Association (PMA). The survey included responses from 90 metalforming companies and shows little change compared to the previous month.

Business Conditions Hold Steady

Only 16 percent of metalformers expect improved business conditions in the coming three months, consistent with April’s figures. Meanwhile, 38 percent predict a decline in activity, slightly higher than April’s 37 percent. This metalformers outlook signals continued uncertainty in the metalforming sector.

Incoming Orders Raise Concerns

Metalformers expressed growing pessimism regarding new orders. Thirty-four percent foresee a drop in incoming orders, up from 34 percent previously. Meanwhile, only 22 percent expect an increase, down from 27 percent in April. This shift indicates cautious demand expectations.

SuperMetalPrice will continue to monitor the metalforming industry’s trends and report on developments affecting market prices and production.
