Nupur Recyclers Expands into Automotive Components with Tycod Autotech Acquisition

Nupur Recycling Ltd. (NRL), based in New Delhi, has acquired Tycod Autotech Pvt. Ltd., a key player in aluminum alloys and automotive components. The all-cash deal, worth 240 million rupees ($2.7 million), marks a strategic move for NRL. This acquisition strengthens its position, advancing from scrap processing to producing aluminum alloys and precision components.

Tycod Autotech, located in Haryana, India, manufactures engine components for Tata commercial vehicles and other OEMs like Tata Motors and Sundaram Fasteners. With this acquisition, NRL will increase its aluminum alloy ingot sales and enter the high-growth automotive sector. NRL also plans to modernize Tycod’s production facilities to boost capacity and attract new partnerships.

Strategic Forward Integration in the Aluminum Sector

Through the Tycod acquisition, NRL aims to enhance the value from its recycling operations. The company has started upgrading Tycod’s facilities with advanced equipment, including high-pressure die casting, vertical machining, and CNC machinery. These upgrades will improve production and meet growing demand from Tier-1 OEM suppliers.

Rajesh Gupta, NRL’s Managing Director, highlighted the importance of this deal. NRL aims to reach 300 metric tons of aluminum alloy ingot production monthly by the 2026-2027 fiscal year. This increase in production will help meet Tycod’s needs and strengthen NRL’s position in the automotive sector.

Tycod’s 90,000-square-foot facility in a 200-acre industrial park is key to NRL’s ambitions. The company already dispatches over 100 metric tons of aluminum alloy ingots per month, with plans to significantly increase that output.

SuperMetalPrice Commentary:

Nupur Recyclers’ acquisition of Tycod Autotech signals a major step in its forward integration strategy. The deal enhances NRL’s presence in the aluminum alloys and automotive component manufacturing sectors. As demand for lightweight, durable automotive materials grows, NRL is well-positioned for success. With capacity expansion plans in place, NRL is on track to become a leading global supplier, particularly in high-performance alloys.
