Outokumpu’s Circle Green Stainless Steel Powers Grundfos’ Sustainability Goals

Outokumpu has agreed to supply Denmark-based water pump maker Grundfos with its Circle Green stainless steel. This year, about 90% of stainless steel used by Grundfos globally comes from Outokumpu’s eco-friendly product. The Circle Green brand achieves up to a 93% lower carbon footprint compared to industry averages. To do this, Outokumpu heavily relies on recycled feedstock, with scrap content between 90% and 98%.

Jörg Müller, sales executive at Outokumpu, said stainless steel remains essential for clean energy and water solutions. He emphasized that Circle Green supports innovation while reducing environmental impact. Notably, the stainless steel from Circle Green perfectly aligns with Grundfos’ sustainability goals, which fits Outokumpu’s mission to decarbonize supply chains.

Grundfos Expands U.S. Operations with Sustainable Materials Focus

Grundfos, operating globally with a strong presence in the U.S., is expanding its Texas facility. This investment aims to boost production capacity for water utilities and commercial buildings. Additionally, Grundfos plans to meet rising demand for data center cooling solutions, leveraging sustainable stainless steel materials.
