Quality Metals has upgraded its Houston facility with two advanced machines from Red Bud Industries. These additions include a Precision Blanking Line and a Light Gauge Slitting Line, designed to increase efficiency and precision in its operations.
Boosting Production Efficiency with Precision Blanking
The new lines will improve processing capabilities by handling materials up to 0.060 inches thick, 60 inches wide, and a 30,000-pound coil capacity. Both machines integrate Red Bud’s Time Tracker system for continuous monitoring of productivity.
The Precision Blanking Line specializes in producing flat, high-precision parts. It includes essential features such as a roller leveler, grip feed system, and inspection area. The line’s traversing uncoiler and top-side film applicator ensure smooth operations, while the high-speed shear and drop stacker handle parts up to 12 feet long. The addition of a C-frame stacker and side discharge conveyors enables the production of even longer parts.
Light Gauge Slitting Line Speeds Up Setup Time
The Light Gauge Slitting Line offers advanced features that significantly reduce setup times. With Red Bud’s CNC semi-automatic slitting head, the machine operates faster compared to traditional systems. Divider tooling can be set up offline and swapped with ease, thanks to quick-release bearings. Edge trim scrap is safely collected by a scrap winder, which can be emptied with the press of a button. The exit shear ensures the line can start quickly after coil breaks.
This equipment upgrade allows Quality Metals to streamline operations and improve service. The new machines will not only meet current production demands but also enable the company to scale its manufacturing process for future growth.
