ReElement Noblesville Refinery Expansion Accelerates Rare Earth Production

ReElement Technologies has announced a 141% expansion of its Noblesville rare earth refining facility. This growth boosts the site to over 16,500 square feet and increases refining capacity to more than 200 tonnes per annum (tpa). Noblesville specializes in producing ultra-pure rare earth oxides and defence elements with purity levels between 99.9% and 99.999%. This expansion supports supply to critical defence and advanced technology markets, including elements such as neodymium, praseodymium, dysprosium, and terbium.

Strategic Impact of the Noblesville Refinery Expansion on Rare Earth Supply Chains

The expansion enhances ReElement’s ability to meet growing demand from defence and commercial sectors. The company has also upgraded the facility with nine new separation columns and advanced ICP-MS equipment to ensure consistent, high-purity output. Meanwhile, ReElement’s Marion Supersite progresses with equipment orders and installations to enable future large-scale production of magnet-grade rare earths and other critical minerals. This dual-site strategy aims to de-risk and strengthen critical mineral supply chains in North America.

SuperMetalPrice Commentary:

ReElement’s Noblesville refinery expansion marks a crucial step in securing a stable, domestic supply of rare earth elements. The increased capacity and advanced purification technology address both immediate and future needs for high-purity defence and battery materials. As geopolitical risks and supply chain disruptions persist, ReElement’s growth strategy positions it as a key player in North America’s critical minerals landscape. Investors and industry stakeholders should watch the ramp-up at both Noblesville and Marion facilities closely.
