Wanrun to Build $167.6 Million LFP Battery Plant in South Carolina by 2028

Hubei Wanrun New Energy Technology plans to construct a state-of-the-art lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) production facility in South Carolina, with operations set to begin in 2028. This $167.6 million investment will yield a production capacity of 50,000 tons annually, addressing growing geopolitical tensions and material restrictions. Wanrun’s shipments of LFP materials surged by 24% in the first half of 2023, and the move positions the company to capture significant global market share as interest in LFP technology rises.
