Compact Automation: SafanDarley Unveils Multi Cell for Midsize Metal Bending

SafanDarley North America LLC has launched the Multi Cell, a highly adaptable automated bending system built for midsize sheet metal operations. Designed for parts ranging from 500 mm to 2,000 mm with pressing forces from 40 to 125 tons, this system targets manufacturers seeking precision, flexibility, and automation in bending tasks.

 

Built for the Future: Retrofit-Ready and Scalable

The Multi Cell system is engineered for long-term use with retrofit capability, enabling easy integration of future upgrades. It supports both servo-electronic and hydraulic press brakes, offering flexibility for varied shop floor setups. A 70-kg FANUC robot, coupled with custom software, powers high-efficiency automation. This combination reduces labor needs and improves repeatability, essential in metal forming environments.

 

Modular Design Boosts Safety and Precision

SafanDarley’s Multi Cell stands out with its modular configuration, which includes safety fencing, automatic doors, and AGV (Automated Guided Vehicle) compatibility. These features streamline material handling while enhancing workplace safety. Moreover, central robot positioning increases its operational reach. The system also includes feed-in/retake stations and precise angle-measuring tools to ensure consistent bending quality across different material thicknesses.
